Okta SSO Integration
One Click to the Company Store
Case Study · Store Access & SSO
A Midwest financial institution put its company store one click away on every colleague's Okta dashboard. Apparel orders from branch-level, client-facing roles climbed to nearly six times their historic average.
| Client | Major financial institution |
|---|---|
| Footprint | 200+ branch locations in 10 Midwest states |
| Users | 2,000+ colleagues |
| Solution | Single Sign-On (SSO) with Okta, plus a Company Store tile on the Okta dashboard |
| Platform | Identity Works QuickBrand company store |
The challenge
The store was there. Branch employees just couldn't find their way in.
For years, the client's intranet served as the front door. Links on internal pages gave colleagues a "safe" jumping-off point to the company store, and that was how most branch employees found it.
Then the organization rolled out Single Sign-On across its systems and retired its intranet ecosystem. The links went with it. With no familiar route in, new store registrations dwindled, especially at the branch level, where colleagues spend their day serving customers rather than browsing internal sites.
Colleagues who did find the store still faced the usual hurdles: create an account, verify an email, remember one more password. Every step was a reason to give up, and a reason to contact Identity Works or the client's Purchasing department for help getting in.
The solution
Identity Works removed the friction by implementing SSO with Okta, connecting the company store to the identity platform the organization already uses for everything else.
One click. A Company Store tile now sits on every colleague's Okta dashboard, right beside the tools they use every day.
No registration. Colleagues arrive already signed in. There is no account to create and no email to verify.
No passwords. Nothing new to save, remember or reset.
Today, more than 2,000 colleagues across the Midwest reach the company store the same way they reach the rest of their work systems. Access runs through the organization's own identity management, so IT stays in control of who gets in.
The Results
Once Okta went live and the Company Store tile landed on the dashboard, Identity Works saw a significant increase in store traffic.
Increased access, more brand visibility, and peace of mind for IT.
